Abstract

From my experience on our Social Networking Systems (SNS), theses systems create a great new experience of connecting people in the world who have never met before. As technology develops, it tremendously decreases social interaction between friends and family. We are constantly connected with friends and family through social media 24/7. However, these social interactions are mostly happening in a virtual space, not in reality. As a sports enthusiast, I have always experienced finding other players as challenging. Also, I have realized that communicating and meeting with strangers is not an easy process because there is a trust issue. So I would like to design a system that will help users to find and to socialize with other users instantly and spontaneously in diverse communities. As a design and research process, I will create three different prototypes for Pick Up Games, DT Events, and Volunteering. Game On seeks out how to create more social interaction within our technology-oriented communities based on users' needs and wants.
